Grand final day tracking towards sell out

* UPDATE: Saturday, September 28, noon - only premium admission tickets remain

Queensland Rugby League is urging fans to pre-purchase their ticket ahead of Sunday’s grand finals at Dolphin Stadium.

With only 1000 tickets remaining, QRL Chief Operating Officer Rohan Sawyer said the event was tracking towards a sell out.

“To avoid any disappointment on the day, we are strongly encouraging fans to pre-purchase their tickets now through Ticketek,” Sawyer said.

“The prospect of having to put the ‘full house’ sign up us is certainly an exciting scenario, as it would ensure an electric atmosphere inside the ground as well as an enhanced television product.”

Sunday’s festival of footy is headlined by the Intrust Super Cup premiership decider between the Wynnum Manly Seagulls and Burleigh Bears at 3.15pm.

Gates open at 8.15am with the NRL Development Cup final the first of five big games.

It will be followed by the Under 16 representative clash between Queensland City and Country, before the highly-anticipated match between the Australian Schoolboys and Junior Kiwis.

The Hastings Deering Colts grand final between Wynnum Manly and the Sunshine Coast kicks off at 1pm, with the Intrust Super Cup decider to follow.

QRL embraces community programs

The QRL is proud to back two key community initiatives during Sunday’s showpiece event.

In support of Drought Angels, a 50-50 charity raffle will be in full swing to raise funds for Aussie farmers.

Fans can pre-purchase a ticket ahead of the game from 50-50 charity raffle.

The QRL is also pleased to confirm Containers for Change as a new game day partner.

Containers for Change is working hard to make a difference in the community. Their mission is to improve recycling efforts and to keep our stunning environment litter free.

With Containers for Change, you get 10 cents for every eligible container you return.
