Extended Training Squad Confirmed

Pre-season training is underway and while the Club’s experienced players brace for another summer of slog over the next seven weeks before holidays, Christmas has come early for a number of fresh faces looking for their chance to impress Titans Head Coach Justin Holbrook.

Most clubs carry an extended training squad through pre-season, and the Titans are no different, with four Development Squad members joining the NRL players for full-time training.

Kea Pere and Ioane Seiuli are spending their second season as part of the Development Squad, while young talents Juwan Compain and Toby Sexton are joining the group for the first time.

Another seven players will be with the squad on a train-and-trial basis through the early part of pre-season, with each individual spending different periods of time with the main group.

Jayden Campbell, Will Evans, Lofi Khan-Pereira and Tristan Powell are all young players who spent the 2019 season at the Burleigh Bears, while Jed Edwards has come through the Tweed Seagulls system.

Erin Clark is a 22-year-old halfback or hooker who made is NRL debut for the Warriors in 2017 before spending 2018-19 with the Canberra Raiders. Clark has been offered an opportunity at the Titans, with club officials keen to see how he performs.

Like Clark, Alex Gerrard has moved to the Gold Coast chasing an opportunity. The 28-year-old Englishman played 110 games for the Widnes Vikings in the English Super league before spending season 2019 with the Mackay Cutters in the Intrust Super Cup.
