Putt finds new home with Central Queensland Capras

PNG Kumuls representative forward Nixon Putt headlines the season 2021 signings for Central Queensland Capras who have been busy training during the pre-season.

Putt – who has moved to the Capras from Norths Devils following two seasons at the club – has joined fellow former Hunter Mckenzie Yei at the club who signed on last year for the 2020 season.

The speedy backrower debuted in the Intrust Super Cup with PNG Hunters in 2017 and was a key part of their premiership-winning team that season.

Another new face at the club for 2021 is outside back Brandon Roberts who has joined after spending the past few seasons with Normanby Hounds in the Brisbane Rugby League A Grade In Safe Hands Cup.

Roberts won the A Grade best back award at the club’s end-of-season presentation and was also named in the Brisbane Rugby League A Grade Calling All Sports team of the year on the wing.

Rockhampton junior Jarred Dash has also signed on with the club, returning to the region after spending the past few seasons with the Sunshine Coast Falcons where he featured in various Colts line-ups.

The Capras has also re-signed a number of local talents for the upcoming season, with the experienced Jack Madden returning to the club, as well as Blake Moore who spent the 2019 season playing in the club’s Hastings Deering Colts side.
