Upton stars in her Bears debut as Burleigh down Tigers

Tamika Upton, Shellie Long and Karina Brown all scored hat-tricks as the experienced Burleigh Bears proved far too strong for Brisbane Tigers in their Round 1 BHP Premiership match.

Making her debut for the Burleigh Bears after starting season 2020 as a member of the Central Queensland Capras side before transfering to Souths Logan Magpies during the Holcim Cup, Upton was in the points all game, scoring the opening and closing tries in the 70-0 win.

Her performance saw her named the Hastings Deering player of the match.

Congratulations to Burleigh Bears fullback Tamika Upton on her Hastings Deering player of the match performance in Round 1.

The Tigers never gave up all game, but were starved of the ball and were unable to show what they can do.
