State squads named for national championships

Queensland Rugby League is pleased to announce its two Under 19 squads to contest the 2021 Harvey Norman Women’s National Championships.

Twenty players have been selected for both the Queensland Rubys and Queensland Sapphires for the championships to be held in the southeast from May 20-23.

The venue for the event will be announced next week.

Queensland Sapphires will go up against Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales City in Pool A, while the state Rubys will mix it with Northern Territory, South Australia and New South Wales Country in Pool B.

Roy Leoni will coach the Rubys, with support from assistants Maia Tua-Davidson and Marco Peters.

Gavin Lloyd will guide the Sapphires team and Paul Brown and Paul Nieuwenhuyzen will assist.
