Mackay Cutters announce 2022-2023 coach

The Mackay Cutters have announced the appointment of David Elliott as the club’s Intrust Super Cup head coach for seasons 2022 and 2023.

Elliott is the current Hastings Deering Colts head coach with Townsville Blackhawks, previously working as the Blackhawks Intrust Super Cup assistant coach under Kristian Woolf.

Elliott will relocate to Mackay with his family in October, bringing with him extensive knowledge of the game, high work ethic standards, and value-based leadership.

Mackay Cutters chief executive officer Mitch Cook was excited to welcome David and his family to the club.

“David will be a great fit for our players and coaching staff, both on and off the field,” Elliott said.

“We are excited to work with David and look forward to taking on 2022 and beyond.

“We are appreciative for what Michael Crawley has given to the club over the past two years and the progress he has made with our players.

“Michael will continue to work with the Mackay Cutters Intrust Super Cup team for the remainder of 2021.”
