The weekend matches began at Pizzey Park where defending premiers Burleigh Bears clicked into gear from the get-to and proved too strong for Tweed Seagulls in the feature match of the round

From the Gold Coast, the action moved north and it was the Gold Stars producing a magic moment to literally steal a win just before the final siren.

Winger Lauren Moss snatched the ball from the hands of the Wynnum Manly Seagulls who were on the attack and set to score, sprinting the length-of-the-field to put the ball down at the other end of the field to claim victory at Barlow Park.

At Browne Park, the Central Queensland Capras maintained their undefeated run in the 2022 season, going three-from-three after downing the visiting Souths Logan Magpies.

Before the game, coach Amanda Ohl said she expected a physical game from the Magpies who are yet to see the results despite their efforts.

An improved showing from the Magpies saw them post three tries, after being held to four points in Round 2.

The final match of the round produced an upset, with West Brisbane Panthers posting an 18-0 win over the previously undefeated Brisbane Tigers.

The Tigers had been in red-hot attacking form and had held their opposition pointless in the opening two rounds.

Next weekend, the competition takes a break for Easter and will return in Round 4 on the weekend of April 23-24.
