Bears win, Capras stay on top and Magpies make move

Round 5 in the BMD Premiership saw all four games of the round played on Saturday, with some stunning results across the competition.

The Central Queensland Capras continued their winning run, taking out the in-form North Queensland Gold Stars at Mackay's BB Print Stadium, fighting back from an 8-4 deficit at halftime.

The Capras are yet to lose a game this season, while the Stars were on a three-game winning streak coming into the match.

The day started with Wynnum Manly Seagulls posting two quick-fire tries in the final five minutes of the match to steal a 20-16 win against Tweed Seagulls.

Prop Essay Banu proved the match-winner, crossing in the 65th and 68th minute in the comeback win.

In the feature match of the round, the Souths Logan Magpies were boosted by the inclusion of Gold Coast Titans half Kimiora Breayley-Nati and captain Brittany Breayley-Nati, with the Queensland star making her presence felt, scoring a double.

Overall, the Magpies ran in six tries to four in the 28-18 win which moved them off the bottom of the ladder.

At Pizzey Park, the Burleigh Bears bounced back from their Round 4 loss to post a 26-4 win, with Karina Brown crossing for a double.
