Bears halt Jets to post strong win

The Burleigh Bears bounced back from their close upset loss against Northern Pride last weekend to down the Ipswich Jets 52-10 at Pizzey Park.

The Jets started well however and posted the first try early in the match when Ratu Jope Rotavisoro scored out wide, but after that, the Bears clicked into gear, especially in the second half when they ran in six tries to blow out the score.

More to come.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Central Queensland Capras claimed a close win against Sunshine Coast Falcons, taking the Round 14 game 22-20 at Browne Park.

Scores were locked at 10-10 at halftime with the two teams going try-for-try for most of the match.

In the end, the boot of Trey Browne made the difference as he slotted three from three conversion attempts.
