Paul Green’s funeral and memorial

The celebration of Paul Green will take place on Tuesday, August 30 at Wynnum Manly Leagues Club on the grounds of BMD Kougari Oval.

The farewell will incorporate a funeral service between 11am and noon, ahead of a wake memorial tribute between 12.30pm and 1.15pm.

Members of the community who wish to pay their respects can reserve their seats in the grandstand via the Eventbrite registration platform.

There will also be a private component to the day, with invitations to family, friends, colleagues and members of the rugby league community to be issued in the coming days.

The service will be hosted by Father Michael Twigg and media presenters Pat Welsh and Jessica Yates.

As one of Wynnum Manly’s favourite footballing sons, there will be many stories told as the community comes together to celebrate Green’s immense contribution to the game.

Green played 162 National Rugby League games and seven State of Origin matches for the Queensland Maroons, before going on to forge a reputation as one of the game’s elite coaches.

He won two premierships at the helm of the Seagulls, and guided the North Queensland Cowboys to a breakthrough NRL title.

The service and wake tribute at Wynnum Manly Leagues Club, which is located at Wondall Road, Wynnum, will be livestreamed on QRL.com.au.
