Minor premiers West Brisbane and second-placed Bulimba have secured a second chance lifeline heading into the finals.
Wynnum Juniors, Valleys and Beenleigh have also qualified for finals but a second chance or a week one elimination are still anyone’s for the taking.
The Panthers will strive for an unprecedented perfect season, with Souths the last club left to try inflict Wests their only loss of the regular rounds, when they travel to Frank Lind Oval for a final 80 minutes of 2022 for the Magpies.
Souths were no match for the Roosters last week at Brandon Park.
They will hope to finish the year as they started with a win, when they defeated Normanby, their only win, in Round 1. Wests meanwhile were at their punishing best to put 50-plus on the scoreboard against the Pride.
Elsewhere, Pine Rivers' year is over after a promising mid-season.
They will host Carina at 6.30pm at Mathieson Park. The Bears' last chance to qualify was dashed by the Seagulls last week.
The Tigers meanwhile have come home with a wet sail after a forgetful first half of the competition.
A Carina win will have them finish the season with five straight wins and could finish as high as seventh after earlier staring down a wooden spoon result with Souths.
Valleys and Beenleigh will slug it out at Hammel Park from 3pm.
A Pride win will could have them host the elimination final next week, possibly against Valleys again. The Pride will still be licking their wounds after a Panther onslaught, while Valleys will also look to bounce back after the Bulldogs rolled them.
A Diehards win and a Seagulls loss will have Valleys move to the top three or sudden death next week.
Wynnum Juniors, with seven straight wins, are flying and will fancy their chances against Bulimba at Kitchener Park from 3pm.
Bulimba will host a home semi-final, possibly dancing with Wynnum again or the Diehards, who they put away last week.
The Seagulls were finding their wings early in the season and have taken flight.
The three-time BRL A-Grade premiers will test the Bulldogs in what will be delicious ending to the CAOS BRL Premier A-Grade Competition.
As the regular season comes to an end, the QRL acknowledge the spirit and efforts of all clubs in 2022.
The volunteers, referees, administrators, families, coaches and players have come together to roll out an outstanding 2022 season, that has not been easy.
