The full list of club award winners from the 2022 Telstra Premiership season as they were announced by each team.

Brisbane Broncos

Prop Payne Haas has won a historic fourth consecutive Paul Morgan Medal as Brisbane Broncos’ NRL Player Of The Year — equalling Allan Langer as the only other Bronco to win the award four times in a row. Haas polled 61 votes from coaches and players across the season, to finish ahead of Corey Oates (56), Adam Reynolds (48), Pat Carrigan (47), Kotoni Staggs (33) and Thomas Flegler (26).

Canberra Raiders

Canberra Raiders forward Joseph Tapine has capped off a huge 2022 season, by winning his first Meninga Medal as the club’s best player this season. The Canberra forward polled double the number of votes as his next closest teammate, while edge forward Hudson Young took home the NRL Coaches’ award for the season.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

Running out for Canterbury-Bankstown in all 24 matches this season, Jeremy Marshall-King was a cornerstone for the club's forward pack. Possessing a strong running game from dummy half, the hooker was consistent with putting his side on the front foot with his darting runs. The Kiwi workhorse scored five tries, made nine linebreaks and averaged 39 tackles per game in his final season with the club.

Cronulla Sharks

Nicho Hynes has capped a superb debut season at Cronulla by taking home the Porter Gallen Medal as the Sharks' Player of the Year. Hynes joined the club from the Storm in 2022 and guided them to the semi-finals with six tries, 83 goals, 21 try assists and 29 line break assists.

Gold Coast Titans

Tino Fa’asuamaleaui has claimed his second Paul Broughton Medal in as many years, taking home the Gold Coast Titans’ top honour. Fa’asuamaleaui is the first player to win back-to-back awards at the club since Luke Bailey in 2010/2011, finishing ahead of AJ Brimson for the player-of-the-year honours.

Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles

Sea Eagles hooker Lachlan Croker has claimed the Roy Bull Best and Fairest award for 2022. Croker had an incredible season in his 23 games, making 902 kicking metres, a staggering 943 tackles, and a career high 822 running metres. The respected number nine also took home the Steve Menzies Medal for the Play of the Year for his superb 40/20 kick and two great tries against the Cowboys in Round 15.

Melbourne Storm

Cameron Munster has become the first winner of the Cameron Smith Player of the Year Award after being named Melbourne Storm’s best player for 2022. This is the first time Storm’s best player prize has been named in honour of the NRL’s all- time games record holder, Cameron Smith, who was Melbourne’s Player of the Year a record eight times. Munster was previously the Storm's Player of the Year in 2018.

Newcastle Knights

Knights second-rower Tyson Frizell has taken out the prestigious Danny Buderus Medal for the Knights Player of the Year in recognition of a tireless season. The ultra-reliable Frizell led from the front in each of his 21 matches this season, captaining the side on five occasions during the year.

North Queensland Cowboys

Jason Taumalolo claimed a remarkable sixth Paul Bowman Medal for the Cowboys Player of the Year. The Cowboys co-captain appeared in 23 of a possible 24 games in the regular season and again finished inside the top 10 in the NRL for post-contact metres and ran for more total metres than just three other forwards.

Parramatta Eels

Edge forward Shaun Lane has capped off arguably the finest year of his career by taking out the Ken Thornett Medal as the Eels' Player of the Year. Lane was also voted by his teammates as the club's Players' Player while halfback Mitchell Moses won the Coaches Award.

Penrith Panthers

Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards has been rewarded for a stellar season by winning the prestigious Merv Cartwright Medal as well as the Panthers' Members Player of the Year. Across the regular season, Edwards averaged 218 metres a game, to go with eight tries, six try assists, 10 line breaks and 98 tackle breaks.

South Sydney Rabbitohs

Tevita ‘Junior’ Tatola has been awarded the Rabbitohs’ highest individual on-field honour after he was crowned the 2022 George Piggins Medallist as the Club’s best and fairest player of the year. Tatola, 25, has had his best season to date in the cardinal and myrtle, becoming the forward-leader of the club and stamping himself as one of the best front rowers in the game, both in attack and defence.

St George-Illawarra Dragons

Skipper Ben Hunt has won the Dragons Player of the Year Medal for the second consecutive year, capping a magnificent season that included Origin success with Queensland and selection in the Kangaroos squad for the World Cup. Holli Wheeler won the Dragons Medal as the female player of the year for the second time, having previously collected the award in 2018.

Sydney Roosters

 

Sydney Roosters captain James Tedesco has created history by becoming the first player to claim the Roosters’ most coveted award – the Jack Gibson Medal – for a record fifth time. Tedesco played in all but one of the Roosters’ 25 matches in 2022, scoring 13 tries, making 12 try assists and 17 linebreaks while averaging 212 metres per match, culminating in a competition-high 169 tackle breaks.

Warriors

Departing forward Euan Aitken was awarded the Warriors’ highest accolade – the Simon Mannering Medal – as he was presented in front of fans on Mount Smart Stadium following the club's season-ending defeat against Gold Coast. Averaging 90 metres and 35 tackles a game, Aitken took out the award ahead of the other finalists hooker Wayde Egan and captain Tohu Harris.

Joe Ofahengaue has claimed the Kelly-Barnes Medal after being voted the club’s 2022 NRL Player of the Year. Ofahengaue was a highly consistent performer across the season, and one of only two players to play all 24 games.
