Statement: Ruling made on abandoned Hostplus Cup game

The Queensland Rugby League has today confirmed the abandoned match between the Redcliffe Dolphins and Brisbane Tigers at Kayo Stadium will not be replayed.

Sunday’s Round 1 clash was called off just minutes into the game due to the state of the field following torrential rain.

“Due to the unavailability of venues and staff, as well as draw alignment, the match will not be able to be replayed,” QRL competitions manager David Maiden said.

“As per the operations manual, the result will be a 0-0 draw with each team awarded a point for ladder purposes. Tries and conversions are not recorded for individuals (it was 6-0 when called off), but the match played is recorded for statistics purposes.”
