Emerging Under 17 squads announced

Queensland Rugby League is pleased to announce its male and female Emerging Under 17 squads that will enter camp in Brisbane this Friday.

Both squads will train at Redcliffe and will be presented to the crowd at half-time of the Mal Meninga Cup grand final between Burleigh Bears and Tweed Seagulls at Kayo Stadium.

The squads feature some of the leading youth talent from QRL pathway competitions, the Cyril Connell Cup (boys) and Harvey Norman Under 17s (girls).

QRL pathways and performance head coach Nathan Cross is excited by the depth of talent on display in such an important age group.

“We view it as an opportunity to build our base for future State of Origin players, which is why we support the return of the Under 17 interstate fixture to the representative calendar in 2025 and beyond," Cross said.
