Squads named for Under 17 City v Country

Selected players, coaches and high performance personnel from Queensland’s statewide competition clubs will this month gain crucial experience from their involvement in City versus Country matches .

As the first entry point to the QRL’s Origin eligible representative pathway, the Under 17 male and female matches are important fixtures on this year’s program.

While all eyes will be on the performances of players in the two games at Totally Workwear Stadium, the matches are only one component of the overall selection experience.

Players and performance staff will participate in a four-day camp that includes training sessions and off-field education.

Developing a connection to the ‘Maroons DNA’ in the presence of FOGS is a key focus area for players, who will also receive education on nutrition and careers / pathways.

The girls’ City v Country match will open the match-day program on Wednesday, April 16, at 11.30am. The boys’ game follows at 1pm.

Both games will showcase some of the leading players and coaches involved in the Harvey Norman Under 17 and Cyril Connell Cup (presented by Ford) competitions.
