Your Name In Maroon
The Maroons Foundation and The Courier-Mail are teaming up to provide fans with the unique opportunity to have your name etched in Maroon before the biggest sporting contest of the year.
With a donation to the Maroons Foundation, your name will be printed on a locker inside one of the most sacred places in Australian sport … the Queensland Maroons dressing room.
The initiative is the first of its kind in Maroons history – and will undoubtedly play a massive role in inspiring the Queensland team ahead of the State of Origin series opener at Suncorp Stadium.
Maroons legend and Foundation ambassador Wally Lewis is leading the call for Queenslanders to get behind the campaign.
“When the Maroons run out to face the Blues, they’ll see your name – and thousands of others, right alongside them,” Lewis said.
“It will be a powerful reminder of who they’re playing for: You. Your family. Your town. Our state.”
The Maroons Foundation is committed to making rugby league more accessible to more people, with a focus on improving facilities and pathways for every Queenslander.
Fans have until Thursday, May 22 (5pm) to donate and can read more about the Maroons' preparation and your impact in The Courier-Mail's comprehensive Origin coverage in the paper or at couriermail.com.au
Player lockers are allocated and cannot be chosen. You’ll be notified of which player’s locker your name appears on after your donation is processed. Make sure the name submitted with your donation is exactly how you'd like it to appear on the locker.
Your donation to this project is tax deductible
The Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) is the only deductible gift recipient for sport in Australia. This means that donations of $2 or more to approved projects on our website are tax deductible. Shortly after making your donation, you'll receive an official receipt from the ASF that you can use in your income tax return.
