Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons Game III squad

The Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons will hit the ground running as they head into camp on the Gold Coast, preparing for the final match of the 2025 State of Origin series.

Two fresh faces will debut in Game III, with Hayley Maddick and Georgia Hannaway earning their call-up to the Maroons squad. Maddick will slot into the starting fullback role following Tamika Upton’s withdrawal due to a hip injury sustained in Game II.

The Sunshine Coast product enjoyed a breakout 2024 season with the Brisbane Broncos. Known for her speed, footwork, and defensive toughness, Maddick cemented herself as a vital part of the Broncos’ backline and now earns her chance on the Origin stage.

Hannaway, a standout playmaker for the Cronulla Sharks, has also enjoyed a meteoric rise. After starring in the BMD Premiership with the Norths Devils, she quickly established herself as a key figure in Cronulla’s halves, helping guide the side to the NRLW grand final. Her impact was recognised with the club’s Rookie of the Year honour.

In other changes, veteran leader Ali Brigginshaw will move to lock, replacing Keilee Joseph, who has been ruled out due to medical reasons. Versatile utility Lauren Brown will take over the halfback duties, while Destiny Brill returns to the starting line-up.

Rounding it out, Wests Tigers winger Emily Bass has been added to the squad and will wear the No.19 jersey.

Every State of Origin match is a momentous occasion, and with plenty to play for, expect a determined Queensland side when they run out at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle.

Don’t miss it. Kick-off is 7:45 pm, Thursday, May 29. Be there to catch all the action live.
