The Dalby Devils have again shown the power of a community’s willingness to give back, raising over $10,000 during their annual under 17 charity round held on Saturday.

This year, the funds will support the McGrath Foundation’s cancer care nursing services in Dalby, with the initiative proudly led by the club’s under 17 boys and girls sides.

Each year, the clubs under 17s select a cause close to their hearts, driving fundraising efforts. It’s a long-standing tradition that reinforces gratitude to the Dalby community and teaches players about the dedication behind the scenes from club volunteers and committee members.

Players hit their goal through jersey sponsorships, bake stalls, and first try scorer sweeps across both matches. The day was boosted by the support of visiting teams Southern Suburbs and Valleys, who also embraced the cause.

The Devils have a strong track record of raising funds for important causes, previously backing the Carl Webb Foundation and RUOK. That ongoing connection with RUOK has led to a long-term partnership embedded in the club’s mental health and wellbeing culture.

The total amount raised across recent years is now approaching the $100,000 mark, reflecting the club’s enduring commitment to community impact beyond the scoreboard.
