The Ipswich Jets looked well-rested following their bye, as they defeated the Western Clydesdales 32-12 at Miles District Rugby League Club.
A first-half hat-trick from Jets winger Allan Fitzgibbon saw Ipswich finish the first half with a resounding lead, entering the sheds up 14 points.
The second half would prove a closer affair than the first, but two tries to Oliver Pascoe would seal a win for the Jets, who had lost their last two games away from home.
Former Wallabies fly-half Carter Gordon impressed in his 40-minute stint, playing his first game of rugby league this season and showcasing great passing and a strong running game.
The Jets will return home this weekend as they host the Sunshine Coast Falcons next Saturday.
The Capras' red-hot end to the season continued in Rockhampton, as Central Queensland pulled off a strong upset against the fourth-placed Wynnum Manly Seagulls at Rugby Park.
Down 14-6 with less than 30 minutes remaining, the Capras would show brilliant resilience as they mounted an 18-point comeback in just 15 minutes.
Scoring their first points of the second half through John Fineanganofo, the Capras would then lean on Aaron Moore to set up a try for captain Tyler Szepanowski, who crossed over to a raucous cheer from the Rugby Park faithful.
Already in front with two minutes left, Ryan Jackson would seal the deal for the home side with a 78th minute try to make the final score 24-14.
Half of the Capras' wins this season have come in the past month, with the Central Queensland side no doubt taking strong momentum into the 2026 season.
The Townsville Blackhawks have stayed in the hunt for the minor premiership following a strong 18-14 win over the Mackay Cutters at BB Print Stadium.
Blackhawks lock Isaiah Latu opened the match with his third try in four games, with the ever-prolific Dudley Dotoi crossing only five minutes later.
After both sides scored late in the first half, the Blackhawks entered the sheds with a firm 18-10 lead.
The Cutters would ultimately fail to mount a strong enough comeback, as a 59th minute try from Jimmy Ngutlik would prove to be the sole points of the second half.
The Cutters are now officially out of finals contention and will play their final game of the season on the 30th of August at Kayo Stadium.
The Sunshine Coast Falcons held the Dolphins to naught at Sunshine Coast Stadium, winning 32-0 as they retain the James Ackerman Cup.
The Falcons were utterly dominant in their fourth consecutive victory, with centre Mason Peut stealing the show with his best performance of the season.
Peut had one try, two line breaks and two try assists on Saturday, and was a constant danger out wide.
Following the defeat, the Dolphins are now at serious risk of missing the finals after being in fifth position only a fortnight ago.
Conversely, the Falcons are now on equal points with the fourth placed Wynnum Manly Seagulls and will be hell-bent on securing a top four finish.
The PNG Hunters have handed the Souths Logan Magpies a heavy defeat, winning 52-32 at Santos National Football Stadium.
Hunters’ winger Solo Wane equalled his team’s record for most tries scored in a game, crossing over four times.
The Hunters appeared to be playing with total freedom on Sunday, throwing caution to the wind and embracing an expansive playstyle.
The halves duo of Joshua Lau and Gairo Voro were electric, consistently misleading defenders and kicking admirably despite the gale-force winds impacting the game.
Anthony Milford was valiant in defeat for the Magpies, picking up a double and providing three try assists.
The Hunters require only a single win from their last two matches to secure a spot in the finals, while the Magpies have been eliminated from finals contention.
