The Blackhawks wouldn’t hold on to their lead for long, with tries to Joshua James and Will Dobson levelling scores at 16-apiece.
With the game hanging in the balance, the Dolphins would return to their prolific right edge with Dantoray Lui would creating a line break for Will Partridge to pounce on, as the strike centre crossed over to score what would prove to be the match-winning try.
Following their victory, the Dolphins will return to Southeast Queensland as they prepare to take on the Burleigh Bears in the preliminary final.
The Wynnum Manly Seagulls made light work of the Ipswich Jets, winning 34-12 at BMD Kougari Oval.
A Cameron Bukowski hat-trick headlined a stellar performance from the Seagulls who controlled the match from the opening minutes.
Wynnum were able to strike first, as the deadly halves duo of Jock Madden and Liam Sutton combined to send Ron Philitoga over for the opening points.
A quick-fire double from Cameron Bukowski would extend the Seagulls’ lead to 20 points, though two late tries to the Jets would see Ipswich entering halftime with a ten-point deficit.
