QRL and PNGRFL strengthen ties in Papua New Guinea

Today we congratulate Papua New Guinea on 50 years of independence, a milestone that reflects the nation’s pride, resilience and love for rugby league.

Over the past five days, the Queensland Rugby League and Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League have shared experiences that reinforced the deep bond between the two organisations.

The visit showcased how collaboration can strengthen the game at every level, from community foundations to elite pathways.

On Thursday, the QRL team joined the PNGRFL community at the annual competition awards night, celebrating the brightest and best from PNG’s domestic leagues.
