History beckons for both the Brisbane Tigers and Burleigh Bears ahead of a star-studded BMD Premiership Grand Final.
The Burleigh Bears are the most successful club in BMD Premiership history with two titles to their name, while the Brisbane Tigers are on the precipice of an unprecedented undefeated season.
Last weekend at Davies Park, the Burleigh Bears were able to prevail against the favoured Souths Logan Magpies in what proved to be a convincing win.
Young gun Deleni Paitai continued her strong form at centre, scoring a double in a vital performance for her side.
Deleni’s older sister, Memory, also starred – providing two try assists.
Burleigh's captain, Teaghan Hartigan, also chipped in with two try assists in addition to 62 run metres and 17 tackles at hooker.
The Brisbane Tigers progressed through the preliminary finals in a closer, albeit, still comfortable victory over the Northern Pride.
Lock India Seeto put in a momentous performance, scoring once and running for over 100 metres.
The Steph Hancock Medallist Evelyn Roberts, was once again crucial for the Tigers, running for 124 metres and causing headaches all match for the Pride defence.
These two sides have played once this season, with the Bears giving the Tigers their toughest match of the season.
Both sides could only manage three tries, with the Bears’ poor conversion kicking ultimately proving the difference as the Tigers won 18-12.
Regardless of the outcome, this Saturday is set to be one of the greatest BMD Premiership Grand Finals of all time.
