City snares double at Kayo Stadium

XXXX Queensland City have buried the demons of 2024 with two strong victories against Country in the annual representative fixtures on QRL Grand Final day.

City’s women’s team set the tone, with Aaliyah Taylor, Ellecana Potoru-Moala, Kheley Marie and Tia Molo Zali all crossing for tries in the 20-4 victory.

City’s men’s team carried that momentum into their clash, outplaying a gallant Country on their way to a 28-20 victory at Kayo Stadium.

Halfback Thomas Casey scored two of City’s five tries, while teammate Jake Fowler was named player of the match.

This time last year, it was Country who prevailed in the two matches on QRL Grand Final day.

But City never took their foot off the pedal this time around, setting the tone early in both games with physical defence.
