The annual Frank Fisher Cup is set to return this Sunday, April 15, at Gilbert Oval, Goondiwindi, celebrating the legacy of Frank Fisher and the rich rugby league history within Indigenous communities.

A legendary figure in the game, Frank Fisher was a trailblazer in rugby league, widely regarded as one of the best Indigenous players of his era.

The Frank Fisher Cup continues to honour his contributions, bringing together talented teams and passionate fans for a day filled with exciting footy, cultural pride, and community spirit.

This year’s event promises a vibrant showcase of rugby league talent, with competitive matches highlighting the proud traditions of the local community.

Event Details:

Date: Sunday, April 15

Time: Kick-off from 10am

Location: Gilbert Oval, Goondiwindi

Those attending can look forward to an exciting day of both culture and rugby league. Opening the day’s proceedings is a traditional smoking ceremony, with the Women’s Frank Fisher invitational side and Women’s QPS side marking the first match of the day at 10AM. Shortly after the women’s game, the Men’s Frank Fisher invitational side will play the Men’s QPS side at 11:15AM.

For those unable to attend in person, the matches will be available via live stream via Qplus.TV.
