Queensland Rugby League is pleased to confirm the coaches, managers and trainers who will lead and support the best senior playing talent across community rugby league competitions.
Teams for the annual XXXX City versus Country men’s and women’s seniors matches will be announced next month following a series of representative carnivals and fixtures.
Players who perform strongly in matches at the XXXX 47th Battalion, XXXX Foley Shield and XXXX Chairs Challenge will put themselves in the frame for selection in their respective City and Country teams.
This year’s fierce City v Country rivalry will play out at Sunshine Coast Stadium on June 6, with two big matches locked in as part of a bumper program that also includes a Mini Maroons clinic.
Mark Gliddon will steer the City men’s team after guiding City to victory last year, while Paul Nieuwenhuyzen also returns to guide City’s women’s team which will go in search of back-to-back wins.
Mackay’s Tom Heggie takes the reins of the Country men’s team, while Country’s women’s team will be coached by Toowoomba’s Richard Dugdale.
Teams will be announced next month.
