The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground has played host to the 2026 State of Origin series launch, with rival players and coaches coming together ahead of the men’s and women’s series.
Billy Slater, Cameron Munster, Nathan Cross and Lauren Brown proudly represented the Queensland Maroons during the media event.
For Slater and Munster, their first Origin target will be preparing for Game I in Sydney, before their focus turns to Game II on the hallowed turf of the MCG on June 17.
The best way to show your support for the Maroons in Melbourne is through ticketed Maroons membership.
Cross and Brown have their eyes on the women’s series opener in Newcastle, with the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons squad to assemble in camp on Thursday following tomorrow’s squad unveiling.
Brown is backing the new faces in the Maroons squad to perform strongly.
“Everyone that comes into this Queensland squad are incredible players that have dominated in the NRLW space,” Brown said.
“Being in the Origin arena is not too different for them. It is a step up, but everyone that has come into the squad has really owned their role, and have stood up.”
A Gold Coast local, Brown said she was thrilled that Robina had been chosen as the venue for the third Origin match.
