Meninga Cup grand finalists confirmed

Wynnum Manly Seagulls will play the Townsville Blackhawks in this Saturday’s Mal Meninga Cup grand final (presented by Ford) at Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe.

The May 9 clash will kick off at 2.05pm and will showcase some of the Queensland Rugby League’s most talented pathway players.

The Seagulls played their way into the decider with a 22-12 win over Tweed. Wynnum Manly’s Bond Bradley scored a hat-trick for the bayside Seagulls.

Townsville scored five tries to three to beat the Redcliffe Dolphins 20-18 at Redcliffe. The home team was able to keep the scoreboard pressure on through the boot of Adam McSherry, who landed all three conversions.

Townsville had an off day with the boot but a double from Archie Mesritz and a late try from five-eighth Taj Lateo landed the knockout blow for the Blackhawks.
