Country Week 2026 has produced some nailbiting games as the race for positions within the top eight of the Hostplus Cup intensifies.
Three Round 19 matches were decided by four points or less as regional fans enjoyed the thrilling action.
At Roma, the Western Clydesdales got the better of the Ipswich Jets for the second time this year after a 79th minute field goal from Christopher Woodbridge sealed a stunning 27-26 victory.
The result was another step in the right direction for the resurgent Clydesdales, who in the process put a major dent in Ipswich’s finals aspirations.
The Jets have now slipped to 11th spot on the ladder with just four rounds remaining in the season.
Mackay Cutters climbed into sixth place after a brilliant 34-12 win over the Redcliffe Dolphins at Clermont, while the Souths Logan Magpies continued their finals charge with a 28-26 win against the Northern Pride at Innisfail.
The Central Queensland Capras also prevailed in a thriller, with their 24-20 win over the Brisbane Tigers keeping them in top four contention.
