The Western Clydesdales return to Toowoomba this weekend looking to snap a frustrating home drought when they host the Tweed Seagulls in a Round 20 Hostplus Cup clash with plenty on the line for both clubs.
One side is trying to end a horror run at home, the other is desperate to stop a losing streak of its own. Something must give.
Despite claiming a confidence-boosting 28-24 victory over the Seagulls at Piggabeen earlier this season, the Clydesdales have struggled to turn competitive performances into victories on home soil.
Their Round 9 triumph ended a 393-day wait for a Hostplus Cup win and proved they have the talent to trouble any side when everything clicks.
They'll be hoping lightning can strike twice against Tweed.
History, however, favours the visitors. Tweed lead the all-time head-to-head record 11 wins to three, with one draw, and have won six of the past seven meetings between the clubs.
While the Clydesdales celebrated that memorable Round 9 victory, the Seagulls have traditionally enjoyed this match up, particularly in Toowoomba.
Tweed have won the last two games played in the Garden City and four of the past five contests there, while the Clydesdales are searching for their first home victory after an 11-game losing streak in Toowoomba.
The Seagulls, though, arrive with some baggage of their own. After sitting comfortably inside the top-eight race earlier in the season, Tweed have now dropped four consecutive matches, placing extra pressure on every remaining fixture.
Their away form has also been shaky, with six losses from their past seven road trips. It means both sides enter Saturday looking for the perfect antidote to a mid-season slump.
One individual milestone to watch belongs to veteran goal-kicker Lindon McGrady.
Already one of the competition's most reliable sharpshooters, McGrady needs just three successful kicks to become only the latest member of the prestigious 500-goal club.
It's another remarkable achievement built on consistency, longevity and enough clutch conversions to make opposition fans groan.
For the Clydesdales, much of the attacking spark has come from Chris Woodbridge, who has quickly become a fan favourite in Toowoomba.
Woodbridge is the best thing to happen to Toowoomba since Super Rooster, bringing excitement every time he touches the football.
Slicing through the defensive line, finishing spectacularly in the corner or backing up through the middle, Woodbridge has injected genuine belief into the Western attack.
His numbers speak for themselves: 12 tries in 16 appearances, along with 35 goals, have produced an impressive 119 points this season.
Just as importantly, his energy and competitiveness have lifted those around him, making him one of the competition's most influential outside backs and surely placing him firmly in the Petero Civoniceva Medal conversation.
With Tweed fighting to end a four-game losing streak and the Clydesdales determined to finally reward their long-suffering home supporters, Sunday’s clash shapes as one of the most fascinating contests of the round.
The visitors have history on their side, but Toowoomba have already shown this season they can upset the Seagulls.
If Woodbridge can continue his outstanding form and the Clydesdales can finally end their home hoodoo, they have every chance of producing another memorable result.
If not, Tweed will happily continue treating trips to Toowoomba as one of their favourite away days.
