BMD Weekend Preview - Round 10

A dominant display by the ladder leaders last week pushed final hopes of those outside the top six into the abyss, setting up a shootout for the top two in Round 10.

Tigers v Bears - Saturday 2:30pm

Kicking things off with arguably the game of the round, the third placed Tigers take on the first placed Bears. A winning result for the Tigers could potentially see them equal with the front runners, and earn a crucial week off heading into the finals.

Capras v Pride - Saturday 3:00pm

A spectacle is ensured as the Capras look to defend their home against a finals hopeful Pride. This is a must win result for the Pride, who will be determined to push their way into the top six.

Devils v Jets - Saturday 3:20pm

Another top of the table clash between the Devils and Jets is sure to cause some stir in the race for the finals. The Devils will look to build on the form of their front rower Mia Holo, who secured a double in last week’s high scoring affair. This game promises to be a thriller, as both teams remain equally desperate to take the points. A win here could see the Devils move into pole position, whereas a win for the Jets inches them away from their greatest threats to the finals, the Cutters and the Magpies.

Falcons v Seagulls - Saturday 3:30pm

Whilst the Falcons’ finals hopes have taken a hit, they remain in contention. A victory over the winless Tweed Seagulls this weekend, combined with results falling their way, could be enough to keep their finals aspirations alive. Falcons’ lock Ace Pollock will be an important piece of the complicated finals puzzle, after topping both the tackle and metre counts in last week’s loss.

Cutters v Clydesdales - Saturday 4:00pm

A win for the fifth placed Cutters against the Clydesdales this week would put a stamp of authority on their season, with the side hitting form at the back end of the year and securing their place in finals footy. The Cutters head into the clash full of confidence, off the back of Haylee Hifo’s hat-trick in their dominant 34 – 6 win over Tweed last week.

Magpies v WM Seagulls - Sunday 12:05pm

In the final game of the round, the South Logan Magpies find themselves in a similar position, taking on the Wynnum Seagulls as they look to hold their place in what appears to be an all out battle for the top six. The Magpies are poised well, with a dominating performance in last week's match of the round, with Tori Groves Little securing a hat-trick in their 28 point victory.
