Biography

A Logan Brothers junior, Brenko Lee signed with the Canberra Raiders in 2012 and played for the Queensland Under 18 Origin side the same year.

The Marsden State High graduate and plumbing apprentice was a sensation in the Raiders' National Youth Competition side and represented Queensland's Under 20s Origin in 2013 and 2014.

Lee made his NRL debut in Round 15, 2014, at home against Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He played for the Junior Kangaroos against the Junior Kiwis in May, 2015, scoring a try in Australia's 22-20 victory on the Gold Coast. Lee moved to Sydney in 2017 to link with Canterbury-Bankstown.

Edrick and Brenko Lee were both outstanding on debut.

Steve Renouf FOG #71

The former Queensland Murri Under 16 representative honoured his Tongan heritage by playing for Tonga in a mid-season Test against Fiji. Lee signed with Gold Coast Titans in 2018 and spent two seasons at the club, before finding himself without a contract.

Lee trialled with Melbourne Rebels rugby union side, but did not take to the 15-man code. He jumped at the chance to play with Melbourne Storm, spending part of the season in the Intrust Super Cup with Brisbane Tigers, but registered 14 NRL games, most notably the grand final, when he played centre in Storm's 26-20 win over Penrith.

Lee was then chosen in a 27-man Queensland squad, making his Origin debut in the centres, alongside cousin, Edrick Lee, in the third and deciding match of the series, at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium, a match the Maroons won 20-14.

A hamstring injury restricted Lee in 2021, when he played for Brisbane Tigers. He signed with the Brisbane Broncos for two seasons, and at the start of the 2022 season had played 67 NRL games and scored 24 tries.
