THE Brisbane and District Women's Rugby League competition kicked off once again after a two-week break for the Womens 2013 World Cup, with several players from the competition taking part in the tournament played in the UK.


What a great outcome for the Jillaroos; bringing home the World Cup trophy for the very first time congratulations!


The past weekend (July 20), saw Beerwah defeat Burleigh for the first time since joining the competition.


Beerwah coach, Steve Savage was beyond proud of his the team and their performance.


It was a great win by the Beerwah ladies, they really lifted and their defence was outstanding, he said.


Even with a number of players out of the match, Beerwah took the game to Burleigh and came away with a 32-14 victory.


Both Beerwah and Burleigh look set to make waves in the Division 1 competition come finals time.


The remainder of the round saw a very close game between Wests Inala and Logan Brothers, with Wests Inala only just coming out victorious scoring a close 20-18 win.


Wynnum Manly took out the win against the Swifts with a final score of 28-8, while Deception Bay forfeited against Aspley, giving Aspley the two points and a for and against score of 51-0.


Souths Logan and Carina had the bye for each division.


With only five weeks until the finals, each game is set to be bigger and better than the last, as each team tries to push themselves up the competition ladder to gain positional advantage.


This Saturday (July 27) in Division 1; Logan Brothers will play Burleigh at Civic Park at 1pm.


Wests Inala will take on competition leaders Souths Logan at JC Greenfield Complex at 4.30pm while Beerwah will have the Bye.


In Division 2, the Swifts will gain the home advantage against Deception Bay at 3pm, Carina will play Wynnum Manly at Leo Williams Oval at 3pm and Aspley will have the bye.
