THERE were some outstanding games played with past round (August 10), with an unpredictable result in Division 2 adding further interest to the competition.


Wynnum Manly defeated Deception Bay with a great score of 20-8 which goes to show that as the season draws closer to the finals, the progress of each team really shines.


The rivalry between the top two Division 2 leaders has been brought up a notch with Carina defeating Aspley by a penalty kick resulting in a close score of 12-10.


In Division 1, there was yet another unpredictable result, which came about when West Inala defeated Burleigh with what was a hard-hitting and explosive game. The final score went to Wests 22-16.


The 2012 premiership winners Souths Logan however, were true to form and progressed further out in front of their challengers by defeating Beerwah 26-4.


Logan Brothers and the Swifts both had the byes for each division.


There are some more great games scheduled for this coming weekend, Saturday (August 17).


With only two weeks of the normal season remaining, this weekend will be the last home games for some teams.


In Division 1, Beerwah will go head to head with West Inala at Beerwah Sports Ground at 3pm.


Logan Brothers will play Souths Logan at Civic Park at 5.30pm.


Burleigh will have the bye.


In Division 2, Aspley will take on Wynnum Manly at Kirby Park at 1.30pm.


The Swifts will play Carina at Boonah Road, Purga at 3pm.


Deception Bay will have the bye.

Swifts Seek Coaches and Players for 2014 Season:


SWIFTS RLFC in Ipswich are currently calling for expressions of interest for coaches and players for their womens rugby league side in 2014.


The club are looking for an experienced senior womens coach or player coach (must have coaching accreditation prefer level 2, but not essential).


Swifts Womens team is also seeking players for the 2014 season, players with representative experience are highly sort after to assist the younger players and to help them to achieve their goals and maximise their potential.


The club are also looking for players of all levels to promote womens rugby league in the Ipswich area.
