Some surprise scores, a blow out and a wet weather cancellation from Round 2 makes this rounds tipping a difficult proposition.
This week Mackay Rugby League Operations Manager Carolyn Craig gives her thoughts on the weekend action.
Auscoal Super Cup (A Grade)
Game 1: Saturday 5th April at 7:30pm. Brothers v Norths at Brothers
Brothers are riding high after two strong wins in the opening rounds. There win on the round to Moranbah last weekend was particularly impressive. Norths on the other hand missed last weekend due to the poor weather in the North. They were brave in Round 1 against Moranbah but were a fair bit off the pace. Brothers to win fairly comfortably.
Game 2: Saturday 5th April at 6:30pm. Magpies v Moranbah at Magpies
Great Saturday night fixture over in Glenella. Magpies have class across the park but have failed to gel at this stage. There comeback in round 1 against Sarina was impressive in parts but like their last start loss against Wests they are yet to produce a full 80 minutes. Moranbah rare loss at home last week was a shock so they will hope to return to the winners circle away from home. Magpies to put the full 80 together and win by 10.
Game 3: Sunday 6th April at 3:00pm. Sarina v Proserpine at Sarina
Sarina will be somewhat embarrassed by their last start performance against a red hot Souths. They are a bit down on troops at the moment but coach Alan Kilshaw will definitely expect more from his young side. Proserpine was very impressive against Souths in Round 1 but they may have lost some momentum following the week off due to wet weather. Local knowledge means I must tip Sarina in a close one. Be sure to get their early as there is a Masters game on at 12:15pm
