The XXXX Queensland Maroons team will be officially announced at tonight’s ‘Naming of the Team Dinner’ at Suncorp Stadium – the venue that will host the historic 100th Origin match on May 28.

On Tuesday morning (May 20), the Maroons will fulfil media commitments before a public appearance at the Canterbury Clothing store in the Queen Street Mall.

This will take place between 11.45am and 1pm.

From there, the eye-catching new team bus will get its first hit out along the highway as the Maroons switch base to Sanctuary Cove.

Mal Meninga’s Maroons will then get down to business and do the bulk of their training on the Gold Coast.

A Friday evening opposed session against Burleigh’s Intrust Super Cup team is planned for  Burleigh’s Pizzey Park from approximately 5.30pm.

Please note that while this training run is open to the public, access to the players cannot be guaranteed due to the team’s tight schedule.

The Maroons will remain based on the Gold Coast until Tuesday morning, when they travel back to Brisbane for their Captain’s Run at Suncorp Stadium. This session is closed.

Wednesday is game day (make sure you have your ticket www.ticketek.com) and excitement will ramp up late morning when Meninga’s statue is unveiled at Suncorp Stadium.

Canterbury Store appearance – Tuesday, May 20: 11.45am to 1pm in the Queen Street Mall.

·         One for the diary for country footy fans …
