The Northern Pride's highly anticipated Round 18 Intrust Super Cup game against PNG Hunters at The Jungle (Barlow Park, Cairns) on Sunday, June 29 will be live on free-to-air television via WIN TV and Channel 9.

The match will be the first ever competitive meeting in Australia between the two sides and could well have semi-final ramifications given their performances in 2014.

This contest is expected to draw a huge crowd to The Jungle and is a massive occasion for Far North Queensland rugby league fans.

Pride Chief Executive Officer Brock Schaefer said with school holidays having just begun in late June, and Sunday afternoon football back in Cairns, it will be an historic occasion not to be missed.

“It’s going to be an incredible afternoon for everyone and a real chance to show a statewide television audience why Far North Queensland is the heartland of rugby league in Australia,” Schaefer said.

“We had a crowd of around 3000 for our trial game against the Hunters earlier this year and we expect an even bigger crowd this time around.”

In another fascinating upcoming match televised LIVE on WIN TV and Channel 9, Round 19’s encounter between Wynnum Manly Seagulls and CQ Capras will be played on Stradbroke Island as part of NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) Week.

Round 17’s televised game will feature Souths Logan Magpies hosting Redcliffe Dolphins while Round 20 will feature the Dolphins making the trip to Langlands Park to take on Easts Tigers in what shapes as a high-stakes battle.
