XXXX Queensland Maroons coach Mal Meninga has this morning confirmed Will Chambers won’t return to Camp Maroon after suffering a bad cut to his leg in Melbourne’s 24-20 win over the Gold Coast Titans last night.

Parramatta’s Wille Tonga has re-joined the squad after fulfilling his commitments with the Eels on Sunday.

Yesterday, Billy Slater became a confirmed starter for the Maroons tomorrow night.

Daly Cherry-Evans and Greg Inglis continue to race the clock and Meninga has not set a deadline; giving the players up until kick-off to prove their fitness.

However - he told media that while Inglis appears likely to play - Cherry-Evans has to train today, otherwise standby Ben Hunt is ready to make his debut.

The team will go through their final paces at the Captain’s Run at ANZ Stadium this afternoon.
