Brothers withstood an early onslaught by the Burdekin Roosters at Jack Manski Oval on Saturday night to record a 40-18 victory.
The Roosters started on fire, dominating from the opening whistle, and were the better team for the first half hour of the match.
However poor decision making in defence resulted in an eight minute lapse late in the first half which saw Brothers gain back the ascendancy with three quick tries which allowed them to take a 22-6 lead into half time.
From there Brothers ran over the hapless Roosters. The Roosters had opportunities to get back into the match, however they failed to capitalise on good field position through poor handling and lacklustre attacking options which failed to test the Brothers defense.
The win sees Brothers overtake the Roosters to move into second spot on the TDRL ladder behind Herbert River.
