NRL One Community Ambassador Michael Crocker, along with Souths Logan Magpies CEO Jim McClelland and coach Josh Hannay, will be guests of honour at local junior rugby league games ahead of the Get in the Game Country Week clash between the Pride and Magpies in Mareeba on Saturday.

Friday night will see the visitors attending the junior games being played at Vico Oval (Kangaroos).

McClelland and Hannay will also visit Kuranda on Saturday morning where the Kuranda Raiders Junior Rugby League are hosting the Herberton Magpies club, before heading to Mareeba for the Intrust Super Cup game.

NRL One Community Ambassador Michael Crocker will be attending the junior games in Mareeba on Saturday morning leading into the Cairns District Rugby League Round 20 games and the Souths Logan v Northern Pride game.

NRL Regional Manager, Tony Quinn, said it is great to have input from all levels of the game for the Get in the Game Country Week program in the Far North.

“The Mareeba Rugby League clubs alongside the Northern Pride have done a great job putting together the program for Saturday.”

“Rugby league games from Under 6’s to Intrust Super Cup will be played at Davies Park on Saturday, showcasing the strength of the game in our region.”

Kuranda Raiders president Neil Davis said the players and parents alike were excited to hear of Saturday’s visit by the Souths CEO and coach.

“We are a small and relatively new club so it is a thrill to have former Cowboys and State of Origin player, Josh Hannay, along with Mr McClelland attend our game day.”

Herberton Magpies players will have the additional thrill of also attending the Intrust Super Cup game and visiting the Souths Magpies in their dressing room after the game.
