Trevor "The Axe" Gillmeister is now on his way to Maryborough after safely arriving at Bundaberg over the weekend.

Gilly and his team recharged the batteries with a couple of nights at the Bundaberg City Motor Inn, thanks to Tom and Glenda Dunphy (pictured).

The Bundaberg RSL looked after the group as well, putting on two wonderful dinners for the weary foot soldiers.

The support keeps rolling in for Gilly, who is walking from Townsville to Brisbane to raise awareness about Asbestos.

While in Bundy, the "Taking the Axe to Asbestos" initiative received a $750 donation from Stacey Watson.

"I am just delighted to be involved. We lost our gorgeous Mum Denny to Mesothelioma so thank you to everyone involved for highlighting this terrible disease," Stacey wrote on Facebook.

"What great people you are! Myself, Kelli McQuillen, Corey McQuillen and the entire McQuillen family send their thanks to you!
