Wallangarra v Tenterfield at Wallangarra

Tenterfield 26 (Bennett Sutton, Jeremy Parker, Nathan Barraclough, Simon Lee, Brad Ashcroft tries; Brendan Minns 2, Nathan Barraclough goals) def Wallangarra 18 (James Jerome, Richard Taber, Wayne Brown tries; Codie Tandy 3 goals)

Ladies League Tag - Tenterfield Tigerettes 28 (Shay Landers 2, Sophie Sutcliffe, Meg Landers, Sophie Cooper 5 tries; Georgia O`Niell 3, Sophie Cooper goals) def Wallangarra Ramettes 4 (Cyrstal Duroux try)

An enormous crowd watched on as Wallangarra chased their second win of the year. Codie Tandy the Rams halfback was sent from the field five minutes into the second half for dissent to the referee. The Rams were leading 18–10 at this stage and this became the turning point in the match with Tenterfield coming over the top and winning the match.

Stanthorpe v Killarney at Stanthorpe.

Stanthorpe A Grade 60 (Lee Hicks 3, Brad Britton 2, Kyle Marsh 2, Geoff Swan, Jason Wilmot, Tom Cameron, Tom Jensen tries; Jason Wilmot 8 goals) def Killarney 4 (Mick Ford try)

Ladies League Tag – Stanthorpe 18 (Sophie Britton, Skye Barker, Nikella Carter, Courtney Carter tries) def Killarney Cutters 12 (Lara Brackin 2 tries; Natasha Nolan 2 goals)

Killarney travelled to Stanthorpe with 12 players and this restricted their attack and game plan. Killarney appear to have many injuries early in the competition and let`s hope that they return to full strength soon and become more competitive. A player from Killarney was injured in the 19 minute of the first half and as there is no time off in the first half the clock ticked away until half time. It was a blessing in some ways as if there were another 21 minutes played in the match the score could have blown out to a rather large score.

Young Brad Britton now has six tries in three matches and what a start to his A Grade career. Young Tom Jensen and Tom Cameron each scored a try and it appears that Stanthorpe are building a young culture for the future. The Ladies League Tag witnessed a vast improvement from the Killarney Ladies and as the competition progresses they will be a force to play against.  This week’s games are Stanthorpe v Wallangarra at Stanthorpe and a possible Reserve Grade game is on the cards to give the supporters three games for the day. Killarney will host Tenterfield at Killarney with only two games on the program.
