The Rockhampton Leagues Club Capras are pleased to announce Kim Williams as coach of the Capras for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Williams is currently in his third year as coach of the Mackay Cutters after taking them to their inaugural premiership in the Intrust Super Cup in 2013.
Williams is a career coach who has coached in all parts of Australia including New South Wales, Western Australia and Victoria. He joined the Victorian Rugby League in 2009 as the High Performance Manager and was responsible for the management of the Victorian Rugby League representative programs and the Melbourne Storm Academy prior to working with the Cutters.
Known for being a player’s coach and someone who really gets to know the workings and personalities of those he coaches; Williams brings with him a strong work ethic, recruitment knowledge and success.
“We are really excited about Kim coming to the Capras. We believe that his experience and knowledge in recruitment, junior development and Intrust Super Cup football will take the Capras and Central Queensland Rugby League to the next level," Capras Chairman Geoff Murphy said.
Williams will continue with the Cutters for the remainder of the 2015 season until his commitments are finished and will take over his new role with the Capras in October.
“Kim has the ability of getting the best out of young players and that's key for a club like the Capras, where there are players coming through the system who are looking to further themselves," Capras Operations Manager Brendan Bowers said.
"Kim is also a proven recruiter who has the networks required to attract players to the Capras and the Central Queensland region.
"We at the Capras wish Kim the best of luck for the remainder of the season with the Cutters but want to welcome him and his wife to the Capras family."
