Pittsworth & District Junior Rugby League president Paul Hanlon and club captain Jordan Fraser-Bellette were thrilled to receive a total of more than $14,000 from Wippells Autos Toowoomba the last Saturday.

As part of the Mazda Club program, Wippells give $250 when a club player, volunteer, parent or supporter purchased a new Mazda and nominated their club.

At the end of the season, those clubs claiming the cashback went into the draw to win the major prize of $10,000 which was drawn on the Intrust Super Cup grand final day.

The Pittsworth Junior Danes were well supported with $4000 of their cashback prize coming from Mazda sales from club supporters.

The Pittsworth Club were over the moon to be the recipients of such a generous promotion and President Paul Hanlon said it would impact immensely on improving club facilities for the benefit of the whole community.

He said that a few ideas had been discussed including upgrading changing rooms, improved seating for spectators, specialist coaching or even getting an NRL player for the 2016 sign-on day.

“The club Pittsworth grounds are used by many local sporting clubs, including croquet, cricket and netball, so any facility upgrade would benefit the wider community,” Hanlon said.

Sales manager Ben Holmes from Wippells Autos was excited to see his old club receive a great boost.

“I played for the Danes from the age of five to 25 so I know how important it is for grassroots clubs to receive a cash injection like this,” he said.

Mazda Queensland dealer business manager John Haines said he was excited to hand over the major Cheque to such a deserving club.

Earlier this year – Mr Holmes was also able to hand over the keys to a Mazda BT-50 over to Blake Cowburn – the winner of the "Queenslander!" video competition held on the Queensland Maroons Facebook page over this year’s Origin period.
