West Brisbane Panthers breathed some much-needed life into their season with a come-from-behind 32-24 victory over Valleys.

The Panthers trailed 24-10 in the early stages of the second half but stormed home with four unanswered tries.

It was a crucial win for Wayne Weekes’ side, who move from second last to sixth spot on the ladder.

Try sneak Kyran Tanuvasu finished with a double to take his season tally to seven, including an eighty metre movement to give his side the lead.

Pinned in their own corner in the 70th minute, centre Kennedy Pettybourne broke the line down the short side before finding Tanuvasu, who outpaced a gallant cover attempt from Valleys flyer Shaun Collins.

That gave West Brisbane a 26-24 lead before Hayden Potts capped the match in front of a vocal crowd at Frank Lind Oval.

Former Easts Tiger Maeli Seve slotted in at fullback for the Panthers and chimed in on a number of second man plays.

However, it was far from smooth sailing.

Ahead 12-10 at the break, the Diehards came flying out of the blocks when Kobi Mills scored and hooker Chris Aiton stepped over.

Tireless front rower Billy Solah and Aiton were among two standouts for Valleys.

They must now regroup ahead of trip to Southpine Sports Complex to take on Gaters, while the Panthers face Easts at Langlands Park next Sunday.

The Tigers gave the Jets a scare at North Ipswich Reserve, with the home team escaping with a narrow 28-22 win to keep their unbeaten record intact.
