The Greater Brisbane Junior Rugby League will host a Women in League Event this month and the night will also help celebrate the contribution made to the game by dedicated volunteers.

The inaugural Annual Women in League Dinner (incorporating the  Female Volunteer of the Year Award) will be held at the Arana Leagues Club (247 Dawson Parade, Keperra) on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 6.30pm.

There will be an array of great guest speakers who will share their stories about being a Women in League on the night, including Australian Jillaroos and Queensland Women’s team captain Steph Hancock and Indigenous Women’s All Stars skipper Tallisha Harden.

Hancock will be fresh from representing Queensland in the Women’s Interstate Challenge which will be played on July 23 at Cbus Super Stadium at the Gold Coast.

Joanne Barrett, a former Jillaroo and Queensland Women’s representative player and women’s rugby league commentator, will be the MC for the evening.

All funds raised on the night will go towards Breast Cancer Network Australia.

The Queensland state development manager for Breast Cancer Network Australia Margaret Jolly will also be a guest speaker on the night.

Tickets are on sale now and cost $65 a head (includes a two-course meal).

To book a table, phone 3367 6016 or email info@stingers.net.au
