It will be game on at Emerson Park this weekend when the Wynnum Manly Redland City Seagulls take on the Ipswich Jets.

Following their win over the Seagulls last weekend, the Redcliffe Dolphins have secured their spot in the grand final on September 17.

This weekend, the Jets and the ‘Gulls will battle for the last grand final spot and will make for some exciting footy.

Ipswich are having another great season this year and their finals momentum has continued with wins over the Easts Tigers and the West Brisbane Panthers.

The Jets will be tough opponents this weekend, with a thrilling last-gasp 30-24 win last weekend over the Panthers.

Jets coach Mark Bishop is hoping his side can continue on their finals run and replicate their 80-minute effort from last weekend.

“I just want them to try as hard as they can, for as long as they can; whether that is 80 minutes or 90 minutes,” Bishop said.

“We have to keep playing well and just hope our best is good enough.

“If we play the best we can and we get beaten, then there has been no more we could have done.”

The Seagulls finals run this year began with a tough loss to the Dolphins last weekend where they went down 51-16.

But their coach Ron Troutman still has faith in his side and after a great season, they are in a good the position to make another push this weekend.

“The Dolphins just did everything right on the day and now we just need to pick ourselves up and get ready to play,” Troutman said.

“We were not too bad with the ball last week, but we will need to have better line speed and just concentrate on those little things.”

The Seagulls had their first training session on Tuesday and Troutman was pleased with his side’s attitude.

“It was a really good training session. The boys know where they went wrong last weekend and they have a really good attitude,” Troutman said.

“We will need to do all those chores in defence that lets us down last week.”

This game will kick off on Saturday at 3.30pm at Emerson Park, but for those who cannot make it there will be a live stream and you watch that here: BRL Live Stream
