Burleigh Bears Women’s coach Tahnee Norris told QRL TV she was proud of the display her team put on to claim the SEQ Women's A Grade 2016 title.

Going into the game against their long-term rivals, Norris said she and her teamed had worked hard on their defence and it showed, with the Bears able to shut down most of the attacking raids of the Magpies.

She also praised the inclusiveness of the Bears club who have been strong supporters of the Women's game.

The Bears claimed back-to-back titles after last year breaking the premiership dominance of the Magpies last year.
