The NSW Women’s Koori team edged out the Queensland Murri Women’s side in a selection trial for the Indigenous Women's All Stars, defeating their opponents 28-24 at Mascot Oval at the weekend.

The match, attended by Indigenous Women's All Stars coach Dean Widders, featured several players involved in the Women's Interstate Challenge played in July, including Queensland and Jillaroos star Libby Cook-Black.

The game was played following a two-day trial camp which saw both teams and their staff join together for the weekend.

The NSW side, coached by Danny Ellende, were marginally too good for the Ben Jeffries-coached Queensland side in the back-and-forth contest.

The game helped determine the make-up of the squad to take on the Women’s All Stars as part of the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars event being held in Newcastle on February 10 next year.

There are 11 Queensland representatives named in the squad.

The 2017 Indigenous Women’s All Stars train-on squad is listed below.

The final team will be announced early-mid December.
