BRL Poinsettias Rep squad

The South East Queensland Division this week named a preliminary squad of 23 players under consideration for their Brisbane Rugby League Poinsettias representative team.

A final squad of 19 players will be named to participate in the QRL State Carnival on the weekend (June 2-4) at Southport’s Owen Park.

This squad will commence training next Wednesday, May 24 at Norths Bishop Park in preparation for the State Carnival event.

Players are picked from the six Brisbane-based BRL clubs and the Poinsettias will meet teams at the Carnival which represent the three QRL Divisions – Central Crows, Northern Marlins and South East Queensland.

The other SEQ team is selected from the Local League ‘A’ Grade competitions from Ipswich and Gold Coast as well as Brisbane Premier Grade Second Division competition.

The strong Gold Coast team dominate the SEQ squad after their win at the Division’s XXXX Chairman’s Challenge series earlier this month.

The XXXX Queensland Rangers team will be chosen from the State Carnival with the team to take on a Ron Massey Cup (Sydney) Representative side on Sunday, June 25. Camp will run from June 2, with the game at Pizzey Park to be played prior to Burleigh Bears v Ipswich Jets Intrust Super Cup televised match.

Craig Rodgers has again been appointed to guide the Poinsettias after guiding the team for this event last year.

The following players have been named in this preliminary squad.

Note: other players may be called up for the team if players become unavailable due to Intrust Super Cup, injury or other commitments.
