Captain and halfback Brodie Croft said he was full of pride for the effort of his Under 20 Maroons, despite going down 30-16 to their Blues rivals in the Origin curtain-raiser at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night (May 31).

Croft, who plays for the Melbourne Storm and Brisbane feeder club Easts Tigers, crossed for a four-pointer in the five tries to three loss.
